Learning Python was a task that I needed to complete, because in this era, if you don’t have 4-5 skills, you are not capable of earning enough money. So, I made up my mind to learn new skills to equip myself for the future. I already have an LL.B. degree, and I have been earning well, but it’s still not enough. Then I decided to learn coding, and the best language for this is Python, because it is very easy to understand, it is like I am learning English and writing English, but as code. In this blog, I will talk about how I mastered Python coding and made far more money than I would have as a lawyer, no pun intended.
My Earliest Difficulties:
My journey to learn Python wasn’t easy, because I had to go to court every day, except on Sunday, and didn’t get any time to learn this new skill. There were many difficulties. I also made up my mind to learn it, but time was my biggest enemy. I went to court in the morning, came home in the evening, and then worked on my cases. Had no time to learn this amazing skill, which would have taken my skills to the next level. Yes, you might be thinking, I had Sundays, but be honest, you guys also work in the offices, or are like me, a lawyer, Sundays are the only days when you want only rest, no work at all. So yes, that was my mind as well.
Even when I decided to pursue to learn Python on Sundays, some work eventually came up, it’s just how it is, a life of man. No one can watch us in a restful moment. When I sit down to learn it, my family comes up and tells me this and that, or tells me to take them to an outing. So, again, no time to learn. I was getting angry with myself, because I had learnt everything that I wanted to learn, up to this moment, after all, this was the skill that I wanted to learn for many years, but something just came up and stopped me.
How I Gathered The Courage To Learn It:
I was fed up; I just hoped to learn a new skill that would have helped me a lot, but again and again, something just came up and stopped me from learning this new skill. I loved Python, not in that way, but as a coding language. This was the skill that could have really enhanced my level. I used the word courage at the start of this heading, and yes, you read it correctly, but it was a courageous moment in my life. I already made my mind up to learn it, but was needed time. So, I decided to tell my family that as a lawyer, I have lost many cases, so for this, no new cases are coming to me, and I am not earning at all. This was not the case. Yes, I have lost cases, but just a few. I was still getting cases, but I had to tell my family and friends that I was not getting any cases and was not earning. For my family, I had enough savings for one year, so money wasn’t the problem for me.
That was the courage that I had to gather to tell them, and I did. I went to court and handed out the cases to my juniors, so they could learn. But told them that if you need any help, I am there for you. I, on the other hand, just sat at the Lawyer’s Bar, earphones in my ears, and watched long YouTube videos on how to start learning Python for beginners. I did this for the whole 3 months, and learnt it.
Starting As A Freelancer:
I wasn’t yet a master of Python, but I started to take freelancing jobs, and people eventually gave me jobs as well. At the start, my demand was merely $2-3, and my clients were happy that I delivered their task on time and didn’t demand much money. I was happy, because at last, I had some other skill and had started to earn from it; this was the turning point I needed in my life. After giving it another 4 months, I decided to master Python coding and eventually become a well-known coder.
Mastering Python was not that hard; it wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t as difficult as I first thought. Because I knew all the basics and just had to learn some new things for my master’s. When I got the hang of it, everything became easy for me.
After Every Hurdle I Mastered:
When I mastered Python coding and became fluent, then everything became easy for me, and I started to take on big jobs. Now my pay was more than $50, yes, I know many more are charging more when they have mastered it, but I was a new master. I had difficulties early on after mastering it, because I had no offers, but when I lowered the wage, people started to hire me. When people gave great reviews, and then other people started noticing those great reviews, they started to hire me as well. I am from Pakistan, and as a lawyer, sometimes I get cases, sometimes I go home empty-handed. But with this skill as a Python coder, my earnings doubled. Through this skill, I was earning every day; it wasn’t high, but every day in PKR, I was earning 14 K. So, I was not only getting from my case clients, but also from my Python clients as well. I was getting 2 Lakhs monthly, and it changed my life completely.
My Life After This Changed:
As I said, after this, my life changed for the better. When my family saw that I was now earning well and had money to spend comfortably, they decided to look for marriage proposals for me. Because every girl’s father demanded that the groom must be earning well and be well-settled. So, for a boy in Pakistan, it is very hard to get married. But after this skill came into my life, I started to take advantage of it fully, and started to earn very well. And no, I didn’t go this limits only to get married, that was not my first instinct, I had an admiration for this skill. I knew for the future, this skill would be helpful for me in a lot of ways. But, to be honest, yes, marriage was in my mind, but as a secondary thought.
My Final Thoughts:
When I look back at this entire journey, it still surprises me how one decision changed everything for me. I was a lawyer who barely had time to breathe, and today I am someone who mastered Python and built a second life out of it. I always say this to you guys, if you think something can change your future, then you must chase it, no matter how many hurdles disturb your peace. I had difficulties, I had responsibilities, and I had people around me who needed me all the time, but I still managed to push through. If I can do it, you can as well. Just make up your mind, stay consistent, and let your future self thank you for the effort you put in today.
