I was sitting one day on my house porch, having a cup of tea, looking at the beautiful scenic views of the mountains, and this made me go into deep thinking. I have written a blog about my house in a different blog, please check that out. So, yes, I went into deep thinking, and thought, what if I could live, be immortal, and see the world unfold in front of my eyes, would that be great for me or not? Or if I get the chance of being immortal, would I do it? I feel we all have, for once have thought about this. I also want your versions as well; you guys can tell in the comments. So, today’s blog will be about this topic, about immortality.
How Will Life Be?
I don’t know about you guys, but if I get the chance, I would certainly take it. It’s not that I am afraid of dying, but can’t take the chance of missing the world changes in the future, and seeing all the things that will happen in the coming times. I really, personally, want to experience the technological advancements that will occur in the future, like AI, robotics, and many more. I want to experience a different lifestyle in the year 3000 and more. That’s the things I want to do, what about you? Tell me in the comments.
Yes, there will be some negative things as well, like my children will get old, and eventually die, my beloved wife will also die, I will be there in their funerals, and will also watch many of my relatives leave this world. But I will be the only one standing alive. Yes, this is a considerable concern, but for a moment, leave this, forget it, and when you are immortal, you will need to be able to forget.
Personally, I really want immortality because I would have the best opportunity to observe the entire span of human and other species, as well as the future of the universe. Isn’t this what you want as well?
Immortality Brings Self-Actualization:
Just think, now you are not immortal, and have a limited time, you will do just those things which are necessary for your survival and your family’s survival, that’s it. But when you are immortal, you will have the chance of learning everything there is. Personally, for me, this is the best scenario, because as a lawyer, I want to learn a great deal. I have discussed my journey as a lawyer in another blog; please check that out as well. You could learn any language and maybe all of them, and imagine in the future there will be more languages as well, so you could have the chance to experience those as well.
Learning every skill or profession is also a very good benefit of being immortal. And in the future, there will be more skills and professions as well. This means that my profession as a lawyer is taken over by the AI. I can pursue other professions as well, because I will have all the time in the world to learn new things, you just don’t need to be lazy.
You can also read every book in the world, because when you are immortal, you will have the time to learn new things through books, and also create your own book as well. You can tell many things through your books, how life was before, and how things have transpired over time.
Traveling New Places:
When you are immortal, you can travel to those places where you didn’t even imagine traveling at first. Because now you have all the time, you can plan your destinations and travel there. Also, imagine if you are immortal and the world knows about you, you will be famous as well. Another advantage that people take for granted. People will invite you to their countries, and you can even travel there for free. By becoming famous, you will get a lot of money as well, and then you can use that money efficiently.
No Fear of Death or Disease:
Being immortal prevents you from dying. People have this fear of death, they don’t want to die, they want to achieve everything, but when you know that you will die, you will do only certain things, which will be only for survival. But when you are immortal, this fear is removed, and then you can enjoy life more freely and with excitement. You will be in your youth all the time and get things done in a way that other people dream of, because of your whole life experience.
You will also be immune to any fatal injuries, so the fear of those things will also be removed, and you can perform some daring quests as well in your life. For me personally, this scenario is just perfect. I want to do some serious stuff, but obviously, as I am not immortal, there is a fear inside me that stops me from doing that stuff. Like climbing K2 or Mount Everest.
Extreme Earthly Adventures:
Like I said, when my fear is gone while being immortal, I can do many things that are considered dangerous.
Like I can explore the Deep Ocean. I can go to the depths that humans have not imagined. Being immortal means you can explore oceans without the need for a submersible or an oxygen tank, a big advantage. If a normal person, who is not immortal, decides to dive deep in the ocean, the immense pressure of the water would crush them, but when you are immortal, this will be just a mere sensation for you. It’s awesome, right?
Now, if ocean diving isn’t daring or dangerous enough, how about Volcano diving? Yes, now it’s getting serious. You can journey into the heart of an active volcano to see the lava and observe it as closely as possible. I would personally swim in the lava, why not? If I am immortal, what is there to fear? This is the beauty of being immortal.
There are still many things you can do when you are immortal. If you have any other quests in your mind, do tell me in the comments.
My Favorite Dangerous Quest:
If I am immortal, my personal favorite thing will be to do Interstellar Travel. I will need to just find a way to launch myself into space. I can think NASA, or that Elon Musk’s space rockets, will come in handy. If I get in touch with them, maybe I will, because I would be famous. After being launched into space, I could survive the harsh emptiness of space for millions of years, and also complete those long journeys to other stars and galaxies as well. This would be a remarkable thing to do. And what if I can find other species, meaning maybe other humans, living on those different planets inside those galaxies? Another amazing aspect to see is immortality as the best thing.
There are many things that can be done, but this is my personal favorite, and the imagination of thinking that life exists beyond our Earth excites me more.
Are There Any Drawbacks?
Yes, there are definitely drawbacks, but I personally choose to ignore them. Because I really want to be immortal, that is what I wish. But I cannot be an advisor (I think that’s the right word to use here) for the entire humans. I can do many things while being immortal and not get bored. But I think many humans will get bored with doing those repetitive things, and their lives can become meaningless. I don’t want that for you, so think like me, be positive always. While living forever, you will have the chance of doing those things that you never imagined before. And in the future, there will be more.
I think the biggest drawback, and for me the only drawback of being immortal, is seeing your loved ones leave this world, meaning they die. You will outlive every one of them, you will see your family die in front of you, your friends as well, and maybe the entire human race. I hope the last scenario doesn’t get real, but it is a possibility. I personally can cope with those 2 scenarios, but many will not, and they will get depressed a lot. So their immortal life will get boring, depressing, and filled with loneliness.
Conclusion:
If I ever get the chance to live forever, I’ll take it without a second thought. For me, immortality isn’t about escaping death, it’s about witnessing everything life and the universe have to offer. From learning every skill to exploring every corner of existence, immortality means endless curiosity and freedom. Yes, it comes with loneliness and loss, but the chance to see humanity evolve, travel through galaxies, and experience every era is worth it. After all, what’s life without a little wonder and adventure?
